Error description

  • There may exist a conflict with VIOS 3.1 and EMC
    software.
    
    Customers with EMC software installed and running VIOS
    3.1, may see the following error while attempt to map
    FC adapter to VFCHOST.
    
    
    $ vfcmap -vadapter vfchostX -fcp fcs1
    Device "fcs1 " does not appear to be a valid FC port
    (FCP).
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • vfcmap command might fail with below error,
    $ vfcmap -vadapter vfchostX -fcp fcs1
    Device "fcs1 " does not appear to be a valid FC port (FCP).
    

Problem conclusion

  • code modified to find out the proper attribute from ODM
