PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Message Reprocessing application is converting special characters in error messages to HTML entity. Also special character ?amp;? is being added after ?&? STEPS TO REPRODUCE: First scenario (Message Reprocessing application is converting special characters in error messages to HTML entity.): 1) Go to External Systems application. Search for EXTSYS1. Enable the External System and MXITEMInterface Enterprise Service. DESCRIPTION,ITEMNUM,ITEMSETID Z299.2 MNFR/DISTRIBUTOR>>>SEE NOTES,PF03,SET13 Notice ITEMSETID SET13 is invalid. We want to create an error message. 2) Import the CSV file to Maximo 3) Message received in Message tracking 4) Go to Message Reprocessing application and search for the error message. The special character > will be replaced by HTML code > If the ITEMSETID is fixed and reprocessed Maximo will save > not > as desired. 5)Item has been created with > instead of > as per original message Second scenario (special character ?amp;? is being added after ?&?): 1)Go to External Systems application. Search for EXTSYS1. Enable the External System and MXITEMInterface Enterprise Service. DESCRIPTION,ITEMNUM,ITEMSETID IBM & IBM,PF03,SET13 Notice ITEMSETID SET13 is invalid. We want to create an error message. 2) Import the CSV file to Maximo 3) In Message Tracking application the message contain special character & 4) Search for the Message in Message Reprocessing application. For the same message in ?Message Reprocessing? application no special character ?amp;? got added after ?&? 5) When updating the message body and tabbing out special character ?amp;? got added after ?&?. For example: IBM & IBM 6) And now if you update the ITEMSETID in message then one more ?amp;? got added. IBM & IBM RESULTS: First scenario: Maximo will save HTML entity instead of special character. Second scenario: special character ?amp;? got added after ?&? EXPECTED RESULT: First scenario: Maximo should convert HTML entity to special character. Second scenario: no special character ?amp;? added after ?&? PRODUCT VERSION: Tivoli's process automation engine 7.6.1.1
