Abstract
The white paper describes how to use IBM Spectrum Protect to protect large scale IBM Spectrum Scale file systems
Content
Today, businesses and organizations face the challenge of maintaining ever-increasing volumes of data. You can protect data that scales up to hundreds of petabytes by using an IBM® Spectrum Scale™ file system that is integrated with an IBM Spectrum Protect™ backup-archive client and IBM Spectrum Protect for Space Management. This paper provides configuration guidance for setting up and running data protection processes in this environment.
Who should read the paper?
The documentation was written for IBM Spectrum Scale and IBM Spectrum Protect administrators who plan to implement data protection in a large scale environment. This paper is also intended for administrators with an existing IBM Spectrum Scale / IBM Spectrum Protect data protection environment to help them understand the challenges of this combination of technologies and provide advice about dealing with those challenges. In addition, the paper can help technical sales personnel integrate the technologies into customer business processes.
