PH22835: ATYZ020E, ATY3115E DISCOVER FAILED WHEN PGM=&PARAMETER IS IN IMSCTL

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When PGM=&parameter is specified to the EXEC statement of IMS
  control region JCL procedure, discover failed occurs with the
  following messages:
  ATYZ020E DISCOVER processing:
  Environment discover failed
  ATY3115E - No STEPLIB data sets found in member xxxx in IMS
  PROCLIB DSN:xxxx
  

Local fix

• Workaround is specifying PGM=DFSMVRC0 in the EXEC statement.
  

Problem summary

  Admin Tool cannot recognize the IMS program name DFSMVRC0
  when a symbol is used for PGM in the IMS Control
  region JCL procedure, like as PGM=&parameter.
  As the result, discover failure occurs and the following
  messages are issued on the ISPF interface or the web interface:
  - ISPF: ATYZ020E and ATY3115E
  - Web interface: ATY3115E
  
  Workaround:
  Specify PGM=DFSMVRC0 to the EXEC statement.
  

Problem conclusion

• IMS Administration Tool has been fixed to find the program name
  DFSMVRC0 that are specified in the following places:
    - "parameter=DFSMVRC0" is specified to the PROC statement
       in IMS Control region JCL procedure
    - "parameter=DFSMVRC0" is specified to the control region
      user parms at registering IMS systems to IMS Administration
      Tool. Refer to "Register IMS Systems management reference"
      in IBM IMS Administration Tool User's Guide and Reference.
