Error description

  • Explicit drops on nested stored procedures are provided in the
wrong order by compare, even though they are listed in
the correct order by CM batch. This may result in a
SQLCODE -478 / SQLCODEN478 error when the run job is executed:

DSNT408I SQLCODE = -478, ERROR: ALTER, DROP, OR
REVOKE AFFECTING OBJECT TYPE PROCEDURE CANNOT
BE PROCESSED BECAUSE OBJECT >procedure name< OF TYPE
     PROCEDURE IS DEPENDENT ON IT

    ****************************************************************
Explicit drops on nested stored procedures are provided in the
wrong order by compare even though they are mentioned in the
correct order by CM batch. The explicit drop logic for stored
procedures does not take into consideration more than one
level of nesting of stored procedures. The comparison report
is also missing information for dependent stored procedures
    that are being dropped.

Problem conclusion

  • The issue has been resolved.
