Follow these steps to apply this Interim Fix.
- Log in to VIOS as padmin .
- Run the following command to check the IOSLEVEL
$ ioslevel
For Interim Fix IZ99060s31 the output must be:
2.2.0.13-FP-24 SP03
Do not apply the above Interim fix to a VIOS at any other level except the level specified for the package. - Create a directory to store the fix package, change directories to the new directory, and then download the package from Fix Central.
$ mkdir <directory_name >
$ cd <directory_name >
- Commit previous updates by running the following command:
$ updateios -commit
- Next, apply the update by running the following command
$ updateios -accept -install -dev <directory_name > - The interim fix installation process produces output for the "Operation summary" of the updateios command. This output includes an installation preview; a prompt to continue installation; output of the command processing; and a final report of the installation of the interim fix(es).
Follow the prompts during command processing to install the interim fix(es). - Check for installed interim fixes by entering the following command.
$ lssw

Interim Fix IV01776m31 for VIOS for IOSLEVEL 2.2.0.13-FP-24 SP03
Two data providers were running for the VIOS agent, one as root and the other running s admin. The pid running as root appears to be orphaned. The problem is that the VIOS installer places an entry within inittab, and when the VIOS reboots the system always starts the agent as root.
Use interim fix IV01776m31 if your VIOS level is Fix Pack 24, Service Pack 03 (IOSLEVEL 2.2.0.13-FP-24 SP03).
