Audit Log

Description: The Purge History button has been removed from the Audit module. Users can now remove the change logs from selected tables in the Composer module.

Enhancement8.0.4January 24, 2014Remove button to generate computation log
Description: The Generate Log button has been removed from the Computation log in the Audit module. The ability to generate the computation log can be enabled or disabled from the Calculation tab in the Administrative Options window. By default, the computation log is generated.

Steps:
  1. Open the Audit module.
  2. Click the Computation tab.
    Notice the Generate Log button is no longer displayed.
  3. Go to Admin > Administrative Options.
  4. Click the Calculation tab.
    Notice, by default, the Enable generation of Computation Logs check box is selected.


Composer

Description: You now have the ability to turn on or off the collection of history for tables in Composer. By default, the Track History option is selected.

Steps:
  1. Right-click a table.
  2. Select Data > History > Track History.
    Clearing the check mark disables the recording of history for the selected table.

Description: You can now delete the history collected for a selected table or tables. If you want to purge the history of a data table, you can specify a date range; only items that fall in the data range selected will be removed. Only users that have been granted permission can purge the history for a table.

Steps:
  1. In Composer, from the toolbar, select Purge History.
  2. Select the tables you want to include.
  3. If you select a data table, select a date range.
  4. Click OK.

General

Enhancement8.0.4January 24, 2014Removal of adjustments
Description: The ability to perform adjustments in Composer has been removed from IBM Cognos Incentive Compensation Management. Users can now only perform manual adjustments in Payee Ledger. The following features related to adjustments have been removed:
  • Adding and editing locked rows in Composer
  • Adjustment color option in tailored reports and compensation plans
  • Adjustment column on the Adjustment Details tab in Payee Ledger (except for manual adjustments)
  • Allocation of adjustments
  • Adjustment summary tab in Payee Ledger
  • Composer > Adjustment permission in the Manage Roles window

Steps:
  1. Open the Payee Ledger module.
    Notice the Adjustment Details tab has been removed.
  2. Open the Composer module.
  3. Double-click on a table.
  4. Select a row of data.
  5. Click History.
    Notice the Adjust Row button has been removed.

10024754Enhancement8.0.4January 24, 2014Enable or disable history recording for tables
Description: Administrators can choose to enable or disable the recording of history for all tables, or selected tables, from the Manage History Tracking window. By default, changes for all tables are logged.

Steps:
  1. Go to Admin > Manage History Tracking.
  2. To disable change tracking for future tables created in Composer, clear the Track history for new tables check box.
  3. To disable history recording for a table, perform the following actions:
    • Select the check box next to the table name.
    • Click >.
      The table is displayed in the Tables with History Tracking Disabled pane.
  4. When you are finished making changes, click Save.

Description: Administrators can grant specified roles permission to delete table history.

Steps:
  1. Go to Admin > Manage Roles.
  2. Expand Composer > Table.
  3. Expand the table for which you want to grant purge table history.
  4. Expand Structure.
  5. Right-click on History and select Grant.
  6. Assign the role to a user.

Enhancement8.0.4January 24, 2014Add data stores to star schemas
Description: Data stores are now added to star schemas instead of calculations.

Steps:
  1. Go to Tools> Star Schemas.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Type a name for the star schema.
  4. From the Data Store drop-down list, select a data store.
  5. Click Finish.
  6. To view the table data in the added data store, select the table, and click View Table.


Migration

Enhancement8.0.4January 24, 2014Migrate Composer when target model contains locked calculation with different start date than source model calculation
Description: Users can now choose to migrate Composer when the target model contains a locked calculation that has a different start date than a calculation with the same name in the source model. The calculation will be displayed as conflicted in the Migration Wizard but users can now double-click on the calculation and choose to ignore it. Users can then finish the migration, and the calculation in the target model will not be changed.

Steps:
  1. In the source model, create a calculation that is partitioned by a date column and select a starting date.
  2. In the target model, create the same calculation except select a different starting date.
  3. Lock the calendar in the target model.
  4. In the target model, got to Tools > Migration.
  5. Connect to the source model, select to migrate Composer, and select the Replace conflicts check box.
  6. Click Migrate.
  7. On the Calculations step of the Migration Wizard, double-click the conflicted calculation and choose one of the following options:
      • Click Yes to ignore the conflict and proceed with the migration. The calculation in the target model will not be changed.
      • Click No to stop the migration process. You must fix the problem with the calculation in the target model before migration can proceed.
  8. If you have more than one calculation with this type of conflict, you can select all the calculations, right-click on the selection, and click Ignore Conflicts.


Scenarios

Enhancement8.0.4January 24, 2014Scenarios based on live calculation and table data
Description: Scenarios are now based on the current data in the Composer module. If changes are made to a table or calculation in Composer, these changes are reflected in Scenarios as well. Due to this change, users no longer have to select a period an overwrite change set affects or a period to promote a scenario to. If changes are made to a table or calculation that invalidates a transform change set, an error message is displayed in the Scenarios module. This enhancement improves the calculation performance of scenarios.

Steps:
  1. In Scenarios, add a new workspace.
  2. Add a scenario to the workspace.
  3. Add an item to the workspace.
  4. Add an overwrite change set to the item.
    Notice you can no longer select a period that the overwrite change set will affect.


Scheduler

Description: The deletion of table history can be scheduled in the Scheduler module. Users must have permission to perform history purges.

Steps:
  1. In Scheduler, right-click a process folder.
  2. Select Log Purge.
  3. In the Add Log Purge Task window, select the tables you want to include.
  4. If you select a data table, you must select a date range.

Description: You can view the selected tables and date ranges for a scheduled history purge.

Steps:
  1. In Scheduler, in the process folder, right-click the Purge Table History task.
  2. Select View Scheduled Purge.
    The View History Purge Task window opens and displays the tables and date ranges selected for the history purge.


Web forms

Enhancement8.0.4January 24, 2014Optimize web form HTML and CSS to reduce size and improve performance
Description: Extra white space and tabs have been removed from the HTML for web form cells to reduce the HTML size. Identical CSS styles have also been consolidated to reduce the size of the file and improve the performance of web form rendering.

Steps:
  1. In Composer, create a web form.
  2. Enable the web form for viewing on the web client.
  3. Log in to the Cognos Incentive Compensation Management web client.
  4. View the web form.


Workflow Manager

Enhancement8.0.4January 24, 2014Required by all check box when creating action nodes
Description: Select the Required by all check box, if all initiated workflows defined by the form initiator swim lane need to reach the action node before the workflow can proceed.

Steps:
  1. In Workflow Manager, create a workflow.
  2. Add an action node.
  3. In step 2 of the Add Node Wizard, next to the action, select the Required by all check box.
