Hardware Considerations

The recommended minimum physical memory (RAM) for the redaction server is 4 GB.

The recommended minimum processing capability for the redaction server is two cores running at 2.66 GHz or faster for systems with up to two concurrent redaction sessions.

The recommended amount of disk space for the redaction server is 200 GB.

An example of a system that is recommended for up to two concurrent redaction sessions is the IBM System x3200 M3 computer with the following specifications:

• 1 dual-core Intel Core i3-530 Processor 2C
• 4 GB DDR-3 RAM
• 200 GB of disk space

• 1 quad-core Intel Xeon X5500
• 16 GB DDR-3 RAM
• RAID-5 with IBM ServeRAID-M5015 SAS/SATA controller and 200 GB of disk space

If you install InfoSphere Guardium Data Redaction from a physical installation disc, the computer requires a DVD drive for installation.

Any computer that uses the redaction manager or the secure viewer must have a screen resolution of at least 1280 x 1024 pixels.

The memory, processor, and disk space required for acceptable performance depend upon many factors. These factors include but are not limited to the number of concurrent redaction sessions and the memory demands of other active applications and services.

Supported platforms for InfoSphere Guardium Data Redaction are:

• Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise
• Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition (with Service Pack 2; 32-bit version only)
• Windows 7 Professional
• Windows XP Professional (with Service Pack 3)
• Red Hat Linux 6.2 64-bit version (for redacting textual formats only)

InfoSphere Guardium Data Redaction supports the following browsers on all client platforms:

• Internet Explorer 7 or later
• Firefox 3 or later
• Google Chrome 10 or later

Enterprise Content Management Systems

InfoSphere Guardium Data Redaction can redact document-based information in the following Enterprise Content Management (ECM) systems:

• IBM FileNet® P8 v5.1
  To redact document-based information in a FileNet P8 system, install the following software on the FileNet P8 computer:
• FileNet v5.1 Content Engine
Optionally, install FileNet v5.1 Workplace XT on the FileNet P8 computer and use as an interface for configuring search queries.
• IBM FileNet® P8 v5.0
  To redact document-based information in a FileNet P8 system, install the following software on the FileNet P8 computer:
• FileNet v5.0 Content Engine
Optionally, install FileNet v5.0 Workplace XT on the FileNet P8 computer and use as an interface for configuring search queries.
• IBM DB2® Content Manager v8.4
  To redact document-based information in a FileNet CM8 system, install the following software on the redaction server computer:
• IBM DB2 Information Integrator for Content v8.4
  Enable the web service Java toolkit when you install DB2 Information Integrator for Content. Configure DB2 Information Integrator for Content to connect to the Content Manager library server.

InfoSphere Guardium Data Redaction supports the use of postprocessor plug-ins. Postprocessor plug-ins can be implemented optionally to make additional changes to redacted output. For example, you can implement a postprocessor plug-in to add a graphical watermark to redacted documents.
