Prerequisites

You must have the following releases installed prior to upgrading:

Rational Directory Server version 5.2.1 (Tivoli) or its interim fixes

Tivoli Directory Server 6.3.0.34 or later

GSKit 8.0.14.27 or later

The Corporate LDAP Server should support TLS1.2 protocol for secure communication

Installation Instructions

Review the Installing Rational Directory Server page in the IBM Knowledge Center for installation instructions.

This interim fix release must be applied over an existing installations of Rational Directory Server (RDS) version 5.2.1 or its interim fixes. It does not affect the data in RDS or RDA.

The download package contains installation instructions for the interim fix, which are packaged with the download as ReleaseNotes_RDS521iFix11.txt.

You should also upgrade to the compatible version of Rational Directory Administrator i.e RDA6.0.0.2 iFix05.

This release is a security release of Rational Directory Server (Tivoli) 5.2.1 and its iFixes.

This release adds Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol encryption for secure communication. The TLS protocol replaces the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol that was included in previous versions of Rational Directory Server.
