Abstract

This document describes how to download the installation images for IBM® Spectrum Protect™ for SAN Version 7.1.14 by using the Passport Advantage® Online website.

Download Description

Tip: Beginning with Version 7.1.3, IBM Tivoli Storage Manager for Storage Area Networks is now IBM Spectrum Protect for SAN. Some applications such as the software fulfillment systems and IBM License Metric Tool use the new product name. However, the software and its product documentation continue to use the Tivoli Storage Manager for Storage Area Networks product name. This document describes how to download IBM Spectrum Protect for SAN Version 7.1.14 AIX, Linux, and UNIX installation images by using the Passport Advantage Online website.

The IBM Spectrum Protect for SAN extension allows SAN-connected IBM Spectrum Protect servers and IBM Spectrum Protect client computers to make maximum use of their direct network connection to storage by performing backup/restore and archive/retrieve data transfers over the SAN instead of the LAN.
