Abstract

This rollup is a collection of fixes and enhancements for the Information Server on Hadoop functionality in 11.5.

Download Description

Several new environment variables and options were added as part of this release, to see all of the new variables and default settings, please refer to the yarnconfig.cfg.default file in PXEngine/etc/yarn_conf after the patch installation. Existing yarnconfig.cfg files will not be automatically modified.

This rollup includes the following notable capabilities described below. Note that this Parallel Engine patch contains many other fixes and enhancements, please consult the README and cumulative_fixes files in the patch archive for a full list of changes:

  • Binary localization location is configurable. In the initial 11.5 release, it was hardcoded to /tmp/px_yarn_binaries. A non-default location may be set using APT_YARN_BINARIES_PATH in the yarnconfig.cfg file.
  • Support for submitting jobs to YARN as the DataStage credential mapped user. This may be enabled by setting APT_YARN_MULTIPLE_USERS=true in the yarnconfig.cfg file.
  • The ports used by the PX YARN Client and AMs are now configurable in the yarnconfig.cfg file

Installation Instructions

Download the fix from Fix Central and use the standard patch installation instructions to apply this patch on each Engine tier
