Abstract

This document describes how to use IBM Passport Advantage to download IBM Watson Explorer Version 11.0 Analytical Components.

Download Description

The Analytical Components of IBM Watson Explorer, including Content Analytics and Content Analytics Studio, help organizations aggregate and analyze massive amounts of information through Content Analytics applications. Analysts can transform unstructured data into insights through visualizations that reveal trends, patterns, anomalies, and relationships. The analytical components also enable custom and domain-specific text analytics development that can enhance Watson Explorer 360-degree view applications and content mining applications.

IBM Watson Explorer Version 11.0 Analytical Components is available if you purchase IBM Watson Explorer Version 11.0 Advanced Edition. The Advanced Edition includes IBM Watson Explorer Version 11.0 Foundational Components.

Supported operating systems

IBM Watson Explorer Content Analytics runs on AIX, Linux, and Windows servers. For current information about supported versions, see Watson Explorer 11.0 Operating Systems.

IBM Watson Explorer Content Analytics Studio runs on a Windows client. For current information about supported versions, see Watson Explorer 11.0 Operating Systems.

Hardware requirements

For information about hardware requirements, including the amount of disk space, memory, and processors that are required to install or use Watson Explorer Content Analytics and Content Analytics Studio, see Prerequisites.

Go to Download package and click the HTTP link to access the IBM Passport Advantage Online Web site. After you log in with your customer information, click the Software download & media access link to download IBM Watson Explorer software.

Downloading and assembling the product

Download all of the parts that you need, both required and optional. The parts are described in the following section.
Unpack each of the parts into a single temporary directory on your system.
Follow the Installation instructions to install the product.

Downloadable parts

There are required and optional parts in the IBM Watson Explorer Analytical Components eAssembly. See the tables below for details about what each part contains.

Required parts

To install IBM Watson Explorer Advanced Edition, you must download the Advanced Edition Foundational Components software. You must also download the Analytical Components software that is appropriate for your operating system:

CIMU0ML	WebSphere Application Server Liberty 8.5.5 Contains the software that is installed as the embedded application server when you install IBM Watson Explorer Content Analytics.
CIK1YML	IBM Installation Manager 1.6.2 for AIX Required to install WebSphere Application Server in an AIX environment. If you previously installed WebSphere Application Server or another IBM product that uses IBM Installation Manager, you do not need to download this part. If you download this part, you will be prompted to upgrade to the latest version of IBM Installation Manager when you install WebSphere Application Server.
CIK2GML	IBM Installation Manager 1.6.2 for Linux x86_64 Required to install WebSphere Application Server in a Linux or Linux on System z environment. If you previously installed WebSphere Application Server or another IBM product that uses IBM Installation Manager, such as Watson Explorer Foundational Components for Linux, you do not need to download this part. If you download this part, you will be prompted to upgrade to the latest version of IBM Installation Manager when you install WebSphere Application Server.

Installation Instructions

Follow instructions in the Quick Start Guide for IBM Watson Explorer Version 11.0 Analytical Components to install Watson Explorer Content Analytics on a single server. Follow the instructions in IBM Knowledge Center to set up a distributed server configuration. See the Release Notes to learn about known issues before you start the installation program.

Download Package

On the Passport Advantage Online Web site, all entitled products are listed on the Software download & media access page. This page provides a guided process for selecting an operating system and the product version that you want to download.

Before you download software, you might want to visit the Passport Advantage Online Help Center and view the Software download and media access tutorial (about 10 minutes). This tutorial shows you how to use Passport Advantage, including how to set preferences, such as the download method and your preferred products, operating system, and language.

When you are ready to download the software:

Click the HTTP link to go to the Passport Advantage Online Web site.
Sign in with your IBM ID and password. If you have not yet registered, follow the prompts to request access.
Click Software download & media access. Click to agree to the license terms for Passport Advantage, and click Continue.
Optional: Set your download preferences. For example, you can register to receive e-mail notification when product updates become available.
On the Software Download tab, click Download finder, select the program offering that you want to download, IBM Watson Explorer, and then click Continue. If you want to obtain the product on physical media (CDs or DVDs) click the Media Access tab, click Media finder, and then search for the program offering.
Select the platform or platforms where you want to install the program offering, and click Continue.
Expand and select the files that you want to download, agree to the license terms, and click Download now.
