PI28492 resolves the following problem:
ERROR DESCRIPTION:
System garbage collection(gc) is getting called explicitly every 5 seconds, causing very high CPU.
LOCAL FIX:
Reduce maxpercent to less than 100, such as 99, then the frequency of the GC should go down.
PROBLEM SUMMARY
USERS AFFECTED:
All users of IBM WebSphere Application Server
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Extensive calls to Garbage collection (gc) are causing high CPU usage.
RECOMMENDATION:
None
System garbage collection(gc) is called at short intervals which is causing high CPU usage
PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
To avoid frequent garbage collection(gc)calls we corrected the garbage collection calculation.
