Can I specify FASTSWITCH when running the REORG utility on the catalog and directory?
Answer
You cannot specify FASTSWITCH YES when reorganizing the catalog and directory for disaster recovery reasons; DB2® ignores FASTSWITCH YES if specified. RECOVER cannot tell whether to RECOVER to the "I" or "J" data sets until after the catalog and directory are recovered. Therefore, the catalog and directory data sets are always renamed to retain the "I" designation.
