Troubleshooting
Problem
You have over 400 RLS files that get quiesced or closed prior to a batch job starting. One file would not quiesce. You get RESP 16 RESP2 34 meaning the quiesce request is rejected because a quiesce or unquiesce is already taking place or SMS is taking a backup copy. SMS is not taking backup copy and a quiesce had not previously been issued.
Cause
The file is in use by a task that has been suspended by Abend-AID FX from Compuware.
Diagnosing The Problem
The dump shows that the file is OPEN ENA. A task is reading the file. The stack indicates that a dump was taken but neither MTRACE nor the CICS internal trace contains any information about this. The dispatcher shows the task in a CTCCVEXT ABENDWAIT at 00:13:33 that will time out at 00:31:33. CTCCVEXT is from Abend-AID/FX by Compuware. While the task holding the file is suspended, the file cannot be quiesced.
