PK77017 resolves the following problem:
ERROR DESCRIPTION:
When using the ANT version provided by WebSphere Application Server and the IBM JRE for Application Server, some of the ANT tasks contained corrupted output. When the commands are executed from a command prompt, the characters were displayed properly. However, when the same commands are executed within an ANT script, the French characters are printed as question marks '?' on a National Language Supported system.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The text output from the WebSphere Application Server Ant tasks may fail to display special characters on non-English systems.
RECOMMENDATION:
None
In certain situations the text output from any WebSphere Application Server Ant task may fail to display correctly. For example, the é French character may be displayed as a ?.
PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
The WebSphere Application Server Ant tasks now set the console.encoding system property to the JVM file encoding to ensure that special characters are displayed correctly on non-English systems.
The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fixpack 6.0.2.35, 6.1.0.25, and 7.0.0.5. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for delivery information:
