PROBLEM SUMMARY:
USERS AFFECTED:
All users of WebSphere Application Server after a Derby upgrade.
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Upgrading Derby can cause java.lang.NoSuchMethodError on DatabaseMetaData call.
RECOMMENDATION:
None
The plans for the statements that stored in the database are not recompiled on Derby upgrades, which are not considered a version change.
PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
Last digit of the Derby version number got incremented to trigger recompile of statement plans.
The fix updates version of Cloudscape to 10.1.3.3.707249
The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fixpack 6.1.0.23.
