Download Description
PK73158 resolves the following problem:
ERROR DESCRIPTION:
The addNode command with WebSphere Extended Deployment applications fails with an OpenFailureException
LOCAL FIX:?
PROBLEM SUMMARY:
USERS AFFECTED:
All users of WebSphere Extended Deployment and WebSphere Application Server V6.1 or V7.0.
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
OpenFailureException is thrown when running addNode -includeapps with WebSphere Extended Deployment applications
RECOMMENDATION:
None
The ImportNode class used by the addNode command does not handle the case where a WebSphere Extended Deployment application has two (or more) editions, one edition is deployed in the node to
be federated and another is deployed in the cell that takes the federation in. When running the "addNode -includeapps" command with such a case, the command will fail with OpenFailureExceptio
PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
To prevent the OpenFailureException, the code implementation was added in the ImportNode class to handle the case of "addNode -includeapps" command with WebSphere Extended Deployment
applications that have multiple editions.
The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fixpacks 6.1.0.23 and 7.0.0.3.
