A static page integrated into IBM WebSphere Portal cannot successfully issue a request to portal using the XMLHTTPRequest functionality when the page is viewed with Mozilla.
PK72919 resolves the following problem:
A Content-Type header with a value of the form: "multipart/form-data; charset=UTF-8;param=value" is not parsed correctly by the Web Container.
All users of WebSphere Application Server V6.1.
A static page integrated into WebSphere Portal cannot successfully issue a request to portal using the XMLHTTPRequest functionality when the page is viewed with Firefox version 3.
The WebContainer considers everything after "charset=" in a Content-Type header as part of the charset value. In the reported problem the Content-Type header has a value of the form "multipart/form-data; charset=<encoding>; <param>=<value>". As a result "encoding>; <param>=<value>" is considered to be the charset value. This causes a problem when setting the character encoding for the inbound request which may cause the request to fail and the following message will be seen in the SystemOut.log file:
[25.09.08 10:51:35:187 CEST] 0000002d SRTServletReq I Unable to set request character encoding based upon request header.
The Web Container has been updated to consider a ";" after "charset=" to denote the end of the charset value.
The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in Fix Pack 18.104.22.168.
