IBM Update Installer for WebSphere Software is provided for the following:
Components:
- Application Server
- Feature Packs
Operating systems:
- AIX 7.1
- AIX 6.1
- AIX 5.3
- AIX 5.2
Supported WebSphere Application Server Fix Packs:
Update Installer V7.0 is backwards compatible. A single instance of the V7.0 Update Installer can now apply maintenance and updates to IBM WebSphere Application Server V7.0.0.x.
Features
The latest Update Installer V7.0.0.45 was released on April 30, 2018. It has the following functionality:
- A GUI and a command-line Update Installer
- Installation and removal of individual and/or multiple code updates
- Logging, recovery features and prerequisite handling
- Compatibility with previous releases in most cases

Installation Instructions
- Ensure that you have stopped all WebSphere Application Server and related processes. The product to be updated must not be running while you apply maintenance.
- Download the most recent Update Installer package that matches your platform from the Download package section of this page.
- Extract the downloaded Update Installer package (zip or tar file) to a temporary directory.
- Navigate to the UpdateInstaller subdirectory.
- Use the installation wizard to install the Update Installer by running the install or install.exe executable.
- On Windows systems, run the command install.exe by double-clicking on the icon, or running it directly from a command prompt.
- On UNIX-based systems, run the command ./install to launch the Wizard interface.
