PK64009; 6.1.0.17: Change the default AuthCacheMaxSize to 25000

Download

Abstract

AuthCacheMaxSize default size needs to be

Download Description

PK64009 resolves the following problem:

ERROR DESCRIPTION:
As the default MaxAuthCacheSize is set to 500 currently, this will affect the performance drastically as anytime a customer has more than 200 concurrent users (for a typical bank, thousands may be common), we will start flushing our caches.

We need to increase this default value to 25000 (which is the case for Pyxis) to avoid customer PMRs again now on poor performance instead of OOMs.

Increase the defaultCacheMaxSize to improve performance

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
We need to change the default max AuthCache size from the current size of 500 to 25000.
The system property com.ibm.websphere.security.util.authCacheMaxSize now has a default value of 25000 (integer).

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fixpack 6.1.0.19 and 6.0.2.29.
