PK30110; 6.0.2.11: missing support for WebDav and DeltaV HTTP method types

PK30110 resolves the following problem:

ERROR DESCRIPTION:

Using the IBM® WebSphere® Application Server, at versions 6.0.2.0 and above, application deployment fails when a web module of the application contains any of the WebDav and DeltaV HTTP method types: MKWORKSPACE, UPDATE, LABEL, MKACTIVITY, BIND, UNBIND, or REBIND.

The signature of this failure is an exception in the application server system error log file. In particular, the exception shows the error message code "IWAE0022E". The exception stack trace will begin with the following:

In the actual stack trace, "[webModule]", "[EAR PATH]", and "[HTTP Method Type]" are displayed as specific values according to the application being deployed and according to the
particular HTTP Method types used by the application.

PROBLEM SUMMARY

USERS AFFECTED:
Users of the IBM WebSphere Application Server, at version 6.0.2.0 up to but not including service pack version 6.0.2.17, and at version 6.1, up to but not including service pack version 6.1.0.5, who have applications that use the HTTP WebDAV and DeltaV HTTP method types MKWORKSPACE, UPDATE, LABEL, MKACTIVITY, BIND, UNBIND, or REBIND.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Applications containing the listed HTTP method types fail to deploy, generating an IWAE022E exception to the SystemErr log.

None

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
Starting at version 6.0, the application server more strictly checks HTTP methods types, but does not have support for all WebDAV and DeltaV method types. The prior APARs PQ98556, PK08719, and PK06273 added support for a number of WebDAV and DeltaV HTTP method types, but did not add support for the method types: MKWORKSPACE, UPDATE, LABEL, MKACTIVITY, BIND, UNBIND, or REBIND.

This APAR adds supports for the listed method types.

This problem was fixed in IBM Eclipse SDK via the defect tracking entities RATLC01129066 and Eclipse bugzilla defect 159481.
