APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A CPU increase may be noticed when running Online Data Extract
(ODE) or Online Pointer Checker (OPC) after APAR PK08791 (PTF
UK05954). We expected some performance degradation with PK08791
and we'll now make necessary changes to regain performance.

This is a forward fit of FPO V2.1 APAR PK22915 (PTF UK13943).

    ****************************************************************
Forward Fit APAR of FPO V2R1 PK22915:
The CPU time of the Online Data Extract Facility was increased
after APAR PK11187 (FF of FPO V2R1 PK08791) was supplied.
During ODE and OPC process, some SDEP segments may be inserted.
Whenever ODE and OPC process these SDEP segments which are
beyond the LB-LE, ODE and OPC had read 1 UOW size which
includes target SDEP segments. Therefore ODE and OPC read CIs
which does not include target SDEP segments and CPU time was
    increased.

The macro FPXRUOW0 uses incorrect register for mapping of a
control block. Therefore FPXRUOW0 destroys some fields of
the memory though it have no impact on the process.

Problem conclusion

  • The module FPXESDP0 and FPXASDC0 has been modified to read 1 CI
which includes only target SDEP segments when processing SDEP
    segments which is beyond LB-LE.
The macro FPXRUOW0 has been modified to use correct register
for mapping of a control block.
The module FPXRUOW7, FPXRUOW8, FPXRUOW9 have been reassembled.
