PK20585: TELNET CLIENT IS NOT ABLE TO QUIT OUT OF A LINEMODE SESSION

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The z/OS telnet client is not able to quit of a telnet session
  after they have entered into a telnet command state, by issuing
  a [PA1] or [ATT] key.  This problem only occurs when the
  telnet client has negotiated a linemode session.  The
  message you receive when the word 'quit' is typed is:
  AMBIGUOUS command; Hit Enter to continue..
  .
  The session can not be broken at this point except through
  the TN3270 server ending the connection or the client
  disconnects.
  

Local fix

• Do not establish a linemode session.
