APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • DFR tries to get the LPMB address but fails as the address

The looping instructions appear somewhere near or between x'220'
    and x'338' into the routine.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DFR gets infinite loop in DFRNWPD8 and *
    *                      DFRNWPD9 with z/OS 1.7.                 *

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
DFR refers LPMB to examine physical record size.
In z/OS 1.7, DFR fails to get the LPMB address.
Because the address field contains zero.
To get physical record size, DFR should use IGGCSI00 interface
    instead of LPMB address field.

Problem conclusion

  • The following macro/modules have been modified.
    -DFRDMAC8/DFRDMAC9
Add a new field, DMACPRSZ to save physical record size of the
    area.
    -DFRINTF8/DFRINTF9
Add code to initialize DMACPRSZ after DMAC is created.
    -DFRNWPD8/DFRNWPD9
Modify code to get physical record size by using IGGCSI00
    interface.
