PK06405: ABEND0C4 IQCY0000 OR IQCP0000 WHEN THE QCF STARTUP PARAMETER STRING IS TOO LARGE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• An ABEND0C4 can be seen in IQCY0000 or IQCP0000 (x'766') due to
  too large of a parameter string being passed at QCF startup.
  The current maximum length for the parameter string is set to
  x'40' = 64, which is not enough (in IQCY0000). This shortage
  is due to new parameters that have recently been added.
  Some customers will not see this because they might be using
  shorter data set name qualifiers in their QCF startup REXX
  exec.
  

Local fix

• Execute with less parameters or shorter name qualifiers if
  possible.

  Parameter string length in IQCY0000 is increased to meet the new
  requirements. Longer parameter is passed to IQCP0000, without
  beeing truncated.
  

Problem conclusion

• Programs are changed to work with lonfger than 64 bytes start up
  parameter.
