The paper introduces the basic concepts for integrating IBM Storage Protect for Space Management and Backup with IBM Storage Scale Active File Management (AFM). It elaborates on the following user scenarios:
- Disaster recovery - using AFM mode: Disaster Recovery
- Branch office caching - using AFM modes: Single Writer, Independent Writer and Read Only
- System migration - using AFM mode: Local Updates
In addition to describing the configuration for each scenario, the white paper provides guidelines and tips for administrators.
Who should read the paper?
The documentation was written for IBM Storage Scale and IBM Storage Protect administrators who plan to implement data protection in the AFM environment.
