LO50653: INSTALLATION ISSUE WITH NOTES 7.0.4HF182_W32

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• OS is Windows XP V2002 SP3
  
  Lotus Notes V 7.0.4 CCH2 german
  
  We have installed Notes 7.0.4HF182_W32.exe on our notes clients
  7.0.4 clients.
  About 6000 clients were updated without problems but several
  clients are not
  updated correct. The hotfix installation started but an error
  occured. So in
  this case files like nstrings.dll...  were deleted. No
  hotfix.ini was created,
  instead of that a *.tmp file was created - I'll attach
  this.
  
  RHCBackup folder is deleted. This folder was there before hf
  installation began
  (see log file before hf installation), because CCH2 was
  installed before. This
  folder should also be re-created after
  installation.
  
  So I think the update started, revert to version 7.0.4 was ok,
  but update to
  7.0.4HF182 failed.
  All notesclients were closed using software delivery tool,
  before the hotfix
  installation stated I'll also attach the install string we used
  to install this
  hotfix.
  
  Level 2 Support has tested but cannot reproduce.
  

Local fix

• The problem is solved by re-installation notes 7.0.4 and the
  necessary
  updates.
  
  But it would be great to find out what's the problem because
  updates in
  lotus notes should be installed if they are available/necessary.
