ANR0172I error occurs during attempt to create an IBM Spectrum Protect database

Troubleshooting


Problem

A user attempts to initialize an IBM Spectrum Protect server database by using the DSMSERV FORMAT utility or the configuration wizard. The attempt fails with an input/output (I/O) error.

Symptom

Messages that are similar to the following example are displayed:

dsmserv format dbdir=/tsmdb activelogdir=/tsmactlog archlogdir=/tsmarchlog activelogsize=8192
ANR7814I Using instance directory /tsminst1
ANR4726I The ICC support module has been loaded.
ANR0152I Database manager successfully started.
ANR0172I rdbdb.c(1971): Error encountered performing action CreateDatabase.
ANR0162W Supplemental database diagnostic information: -1036:SQLSTATE 58030: An I/O error has occurred.
