Error description
When creating or modifying a user file record, some abbreviations of duplicate unauthorized user commands entered on the user file maintenance screen are accepted. If you enter an unauthorized user command together with its abbreviation and the abbreviation is shorter than 4 characters, the abbreviation is not detected as a duplicate unauthorized user command. Some examples are: HARDCOPY and HCO, NOPROMPT and NOP, DELETE and DEL, ROUTE and ROU, SIGNOFF and SOF. The abbreviated user commands HCO, NOP, DEL, ROU, and SOF are not rejected.

MERVA now rejects * * each abbreviation of duplicate unauthorized * * user commands. For unauthorized operator * * commands, abbreviations shorter than * * 4 characters are not checked for duplicates. * * These abbreviations are accepted as before. * **************************************************************** When the unauthorized commands are entered for a new user file record or the unauthorized commands of an existing record are changed, some abbreviations of duplicate unauthorized user commands are accepted. This applies to abbreviations shorter than 4 characters.
Problem conclusion
On the user file maintenance screen, MERVA now rejects each abbreviation of duplicate unauthorized user commands when a user file record is to be added or replaced. User commands are defined in various command tables whose names are specified in the end-user driver program table DSLEPTT. For example, table DSLECMDT (session commands) and DSLMCMDT (screen commands). MERVA continues to accept abbreviations shorter than 4 characters of duplicate unauthorized operator commands. These commands are defined in the nucleus command table DSLNCMT. For example, operator command TERMINAT and its abbreviation T can both be entered as unauthorized commands as before. This ensures that MERVA rejects the execution of unauthorized operator commands including all abbreviations.
