Hanging when opening JAVA-related menu items, when publishing via Citrix, caused by JAVA client temporary files location

Troubleshooting


Problem

User opens a Java-related menu item (for example "Maintain - Jobs - Define"). The menu item appears to start loading. However, this processes appears to stop / hang (freeze).

Symptom

User tries to run any Java-related function, such as “System Audit Log – Browse”. This will appear to start working ("Browse System Audit Log ... Downloading Components")



...then "Browse System Audit Log ... Loading Data")…


...but after a while (for example 1-2 minutes) the loading screens disappear and the relevant menu item does not appear.
