PI57105: IBM INSTALLATION MANAGER (IM) FAILS TO RECOGNIZE SUSE 12.1 AS A SUPPORTED OS PLATFORM

Error description

• While installing IBM Installation Manager (IM 1.8.4) to install
  on SUSE Linux 12.1, the installation would fail with the
  following mentioned in the install log:

  Expected behavior:
  Since SUSE Linux 12 is a supported platform for installing IM,
  the installation should go thought just fine on SuSE Linux 12.1
  too.
  
  Observed behavior:
  IM fails to install on SuSE Linux 12.1
  

Local fix

• Adding "im.suppress.unsupported.platform.check=true" to the
  "config.ini" file located in
  <IM_Install_Repository>\configuration directory of the extracted
  IM installation repository will suppress the Supported platform
  check.  The fix will be made available in IM 1.8.5 that would be
  released in April, 2016.
