Incorrect values in Trial Balance with Drilldown initially shown (solved by drilling down), caused by bug in DB2

Troubleshooting

Problem

User clicks 'Group - Reports - Trial Balance with Drilldown'. User chooses parameters. - Specifically, they choose more than one pair of 'Closing Version' and 'Contribution Version' columns. User clicks 'Preview'. The report appears. However, some of the numbers / figures / data looks incorrect. - For example, a value may be 300,000,000. User then drills down the figures (using drill down by company). The data now looks correct (for example, showing the correct value of 600,000,000).

Symptom

Values inside Trial Balance with Drilldown (TBwD) report initially look incorrect (typically doubled).

  • However, after drilling down by company, they look correct.

Example:

In one real-life case, the TBwD report initially looks like this (value = 300,000,000):

However, if the end user changes 'Drill on' to 'Company' and then clicks 'Drilldown'...

...then a new screen appears, showing the *correct* value (600,000,000):
