Updating IBM Java Runtime in IBM Watson Explorer Content Analytics Studio

Abstract

Follow the procedures in this document to update the version of IBM Runtime Environment, Java Technology Edition that is provided with IBM Watson Explorer Content Analytics Studio.

Content

Follow these steps after you download the required version of IBM Java Runtime for your operating system from Fix Central.

1. If Content Analytics Studio is up and running, stop it before you start following operation.

2. Change to the directory, where the Content Analytics Studio is installed. For example, C:\Program Files\IBM\ContentAnalyticsStudio-11.0.2.

3. Rename jre directory, for example, jre.orig.

4. Create jre directory as empty directory at the same location.

5. Copy the directories or files that you extracted from IBM Java Runtime to the jre directory. The directory structure under jre directory will include the following directories and files.


  • Folders (Typically those are found under jre directory of unpacked IBM Java Runtime)
    • bin
    • lib

    Files (Typically those are found under the directory of unpacked IBM Java Runtime)
    • copyright
    • notices
    • readme
6. Restart Content Analytics Studio on your system.
