Abstract: ========= CHINESE FONT DOESN'T APPEAR ALRIGHT Scenario: ========= 1. Install the font intel_a\resources\fonts\ExtraFiles\TrueType 3. Start V5 4. File+New a CATDrawing 5. Check up the font list in the Text Properties ToolBar. 6. Can't see any SimFang or FanSong name in it ... 7. Now we put the ttf file under C:\WINNT\FONTS (i.e. settings-> Control Panels->Fonts) 8. Start V5 again 9. File+new a CATDrawing 10.Check up the font name 11.We can see now the FangSong_GB2312 font 12.Select this font 13.Click Create Text Icon 14.Enter any texts 15.The font style which appears in the screen is NOT as we expect. The style comes up the same as the DEFAULT Style (SICH).

INCIDENT DIAGNOSIS: Font not installed properly. To install a true type font, you must copy itin c:\winnt\fonts. The directory intel_a\resources\fonts\ExtraF iles\TrueType is reserved to a internal specific use. CORRECT APPLICATION: Install the fonts in the proper directory. Concerning the font "simsun", knowing that this one is a collection de font: the name of the file is SiImsun.ttc instead of an extension .ttf This kind of font is not supported yet.
