HC90010: ERROR WITHIN UNITS WHEN OPENING A CCD DRAWING DRAWN IN CM IN CATIA V5 DRAFTING.

Error description

• We get error within units when opening a CCD Drawing in
  Catia Drafting :
  CCD is drawn with units cm in a scale 1:40.
  Using option 'Drive geometry' when editing measure, units
  are 1:10 compared to the rest of the drawing.
  By Attaching Drafing view from drawing created from CCD,
  scale does not fit, size are 1:10 compared to the rest of
  the drawing.

  Scenario:
  Catia Options.
  Change units within Parameters options folder 'Units':
  Units = cm
  .
  Drafting:
  1. Open CCD: mure.CCD
  2. Move View to Paper.
  3. Save drawing.
  4. Select an area of drawing to prepare a copy operation.
     Chose largest room in the middle of plant. (I want to
     copy a specific room of the plant)
  5. Copy selection.
  6. Start a new Draving Document.
  7. Add a view (Front View)
  8. Change View scale until 1:40 (same view size as original)
  9. Paste selection into Front View.
  10. Draw a Rectangle in connection to existing geometry and
      set on a Dimension.
  11.Edit Dimension and use 'Drive geometry'
  Result:
  Units does not fit
  12.Change View scale from 1:40 until 1:1
  13.Save Drawing.
  .
  Plant Design:
   1. Start a new Product.
   2. Work Bench: Plant Design
   3. Create Area.
   4. Edit Area Rectangel Object Definition:
  X length = 7205.5cm,
  Y length = 4291cm (largest room in the middle of plant)
   4. Attach drafting View from drawing just created. - - -
  units does not fit, is only 1:10 compared to Plant Design
  Area.
  It is a limitation issue related to the "DRAFTING" product.
  The limitation is that dimensional values can ONLY be
  displayed in MM or in INCH. In your case, current units are
  in CM but dimension value displays in MM.
  For example, when we double click on a dimension, the "
  Dimension Value - Drive Geometry" value displays in CM
  (ie: a dimension: 7175.99 displays as " drive Geom. value of
  717.599cm)
  We ask for the possibility to create a dimension which
  shares value in current units.

   INCIDENT DIAGNOSIS:
  Dimensions do not follow the display unit available in Tools /
  Options. It is not possible to display a dimension in cm.
  
   JUSTIFICATION FOR DEVLOPMENT REQUEST:
  The users can customize the V5 session to get a display of the
  dimensions in CM. Nevertheless we intend to provide in V5R9 a
  default customization to get a display in cm and other units.
  
  Here is the detailed information:
  
  1) In V5R9 we will provide predefined display formats
     for dimensions, that enable to have a display in all
     types of units (cm, km, etc...).
  This solves the base problem of not being able to have
  dimensions in all units for users.
  2) By default, in the user interface, the display format will
     be set to one compatible with the units in Tools/Options
  3) The same behaviour can be achieved by administrators/users
     on V5 R7/R8 levels by customizing the CATDrwStandard file
     to define those display formats.
     As an example, here is what is needed to be added in
     the file to get a display in cm:

  Dimensions will NOT follow directly Tools/options, changing
  a dimension display unit will still be done by changing the
  display format in the dimension properties.

  Users/administrators can define a display format in cm, by
  customzing the standard file. See Interactive Drafting
  Users's guide/Customizing/ManageStandards for more informati
  on.
