Error description

  • Abstract:
EPMR: Position of kinematics is automatically reset
    .
    Operating System: Solaris V2.7.0
    Product Group: CATIA V5R6
    .
    Environment:
    SUN-Ultra 60
    .
    SCENARIO :
    1. Open sent Kinematik_Kurbeltrieb_Replay.CATProduct.
    2. In product tree open APPLICATIONS + REPLAY.
    3. Doubleclick to Replay.1.
    4. In Replay-panel click to button "Play Forward".
    5. Stop animation with button "Pause" after e.g. 5 sec.
    and close the panel.
    6. Result : The positions of the parts are turned back to
    the origin position.
For product development and construction it's absolutely
necessary to freeze the (collision) position when leaving
    the replay function.
    Notice :
This is a jobstopper for the project chassis at
    Customer.

For the V5R5 and V5R6 releases, this is the good behaviour of
    REPLAY.
We have had a lot of Enhancement Requests to change that, so in
    V5R7,
it'll be possible to quit the replay function, staying in the
    stop
position. So this functionnality will only be available from
    V5R7.
      Thanks for your comprehention.
please see customer's negative feedback above and kindly
    re-investigate.
    $$RSPMNT=PLW$$ <=
I have done further investigations on the development side
    for this
problem. It seems that some developers have made a
    missunderstanding
between two developments in V5R7 (development of the track and
    the
replay). So the exit in position has not been coded for the
    replay and
is not planed to be made for the moment.
I'm really really sorry to have given you a wrong
    information. If
this development is important for you, you have to open an
    enhancement
    request.
    Please accept my excuses.
    Thanks for your comprehension.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • INCIDENT DIAGNOSIS:
DMU KINEMATIC DOES NOT FREEZE AS REQUIRED.

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON
CATIA VERSION 5 RELEASE 8 GA level.
NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED ON V5R7SP04.

     TECHNICAL EXPLANATION FOR THE CORRECTION:
The default behaviour has not changed, but a new check button
(Keep position on exit) has appeared in the Kinematic
    Simulation window.
If this button is checked, the position will be kept after
    clicking Ok.
