Error description

  • Workbench:GENERATIVE SHAPE DESIGN
    .
Abstract: HEALING FUNCTION IS INCORRECT: THERE ARE TWISTED
    SURFACES.
    .
    Scenario:
    .
    1) do an Healing between two surfaces with:
    - Continuity : tangent
    - Merging distance : 0.1mm
    - Tangency angle : 0.5deg
    2) small surface is created after the healing
    3) Ichoose a merging distance of 0.2mm, Healing caused bad
    result. Twisted surface is created.

     INCIDENT DIAGNOSIS:
The Healing result is incorrect because Surface.5 has not
a good quality.Indeed if you zoom on the edge of this surface
you can see an irregularity which creates the problem.
If you put a tolerance of 0,15mm,the healing detects an
    auto-intersection between2 curves of Surface.5 and Surface.6.
That is why an Update Error message appears.
The size of this irregularity is about the same as the
tolerance. In this condition the healing will be correct
but this task is planed but not scheduled.
In the other hand, for a tolerance of 0,2mm the Healing
deletes irregularity but the problem is still on the model.
The origin default is reproduced: It is the twist surface.

     ANSWER:
    There is a bypass.
For a correct behaviour you have to delete the overlap
    on surface.5.
You have to trim Surface.5 with a line.
The healing detect a gap of 0,085 and correct it.
