Guardium CLI error "ERROR: can't execute MySQL server has gone away"

Troubleshooting


Problem

After initial configuration of Guardium appliance, the CLI frequently displays the error message "ERROR: can't execute MySQL server has gone away" and the GUI is not available for a short time only. Soon after the CLI and GUI are available for around 10 minutes before this error message repeats.

Symptom

There may be incorrect network information displayed in the GUI or CLI.

1. Check the "Network Address" fields are correct in the Setup > Tools and Views > System GUI page

2. Check the output of the following CLI commands listed here are correct:

i. show network interface all

ii. show network routes defaultroute

iii. show network resolver all

iv. show system hostname

v. show system domain

vi. show system ntp all
