HC80082: PROBLEMS WITH RADIUS DIMENSIONS AND LEADER TEXT AFTER COPY FROM V4 MODEL AND PASTE TO V5 NEW DRAWING

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Scenario:
  Set the path to the project files in
  Tools -> Options -> General -> Compatibillity
  1. File / Open TROUBLE1.model
  2. File / New / Drawing
  3. Set Standard as JIS and Format as A3.
  4. MB3 / Copy on the view ZUWAKU in the spec. tree
  5. Activate the new CATDrawing window.
  7. MB3 / Paste on Sheet.1 in the spec. tree.
  Result:
  - foreshortened V4 radius dimension is converted to simple
  radius dimension in V5
  - radius value located outside the circle in V4 is created
  inside the circle in V5
  - the angle of the leader line is shifted from V4 to V5
  - space between the text and horizontal leader line is equal to
  0 in V5; there is a space in V4.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

•  INCIDENT DIAGNOSIS:
  Problems with radius dimensions and leader text after copy from
  a V4 model and paste to a V5 new drawing.
  

Problem conclusion

• THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON
    CATIA VERSION 5 RELEASE 8 GA level.
  NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED ON V5R7SP01.
  
   TECHNICAL EXPLANATION FOR THE CORRECTION:
  - foreshortened V4 radius of 100 if foreshortened in V5
  - radius 30 is located out in V5 as it is in V4.
  - the angle of the leader line is now correct in V5
  - the space between the text LEADER TEXT and the horizontal part
  of the leader line is now correct in V5.
  
   ANSWER AND POSSIBLE BY-PASS:
  This problem has been corrected on V5R7 SP1 and V5R8 ga.
