HC63409: V5R3 MODEL WILL NOT UPDATE IN WITH NEW V5R3 SERVICE PACK 5

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  
  A CATPart created on V5R3 SP3 & SP4 doesn't update on V5R3 SP5,
  whereas it was updated on V5R3 SP4.
  This problem is model dependant.
  .
  SCENARIO:
  
  1. Open the sent CATPart,
  2. Open Sketch.1,
  3. Modify one lenght value to update the part, for example the
  extreme right value, from 7.3mm to 8.3mm,
  4. Exit the sketcher,
  
  ==> the part is updated, and we get the following error message:
  "ThickSurface.2: Shell or Thickness operator: a side face cannot
  be computed. This may be due to the shape of the boundary of the
  face to shell".
  
  This error message is displayed on V5R3 SP5, noy on V5R3 SP4.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• TECHNICAL EXPLANATION FOR THE CORRECTION:
  The part is now correctly updated, and no error message is
  displayed.
  

Problem conclusion

• THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON
    CATIA VERSION 5 RELEASE 4 GA level .
  NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED ON V5R3SP7.
