Client: Desktop and laptop systems only

    Hardware requirements:
    To install the IBM Spectrum Protect for Workstations Client, the system must have the following minimum specifications:
    An Intel Pentium(R) III processor with:
    3 GHz CPU, or higher
    1 GB RAM, or higher
    100 MB free disk space (plus user configured amount of additional space for local file repository)

    Software requirements:


    The minimum hardware configuration for Windows workstations must be compatible with that stated by Microsoft for the respective operating systems. The following platforms are supported for this release of the IBM Spectrum Protect for Workstations Client:
    Microsoft Windows 8.1 (x86-64)
    Microsoft Windows 10 (x86-64)
    Microsoft Windows Server 2012 (x64)
    Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 (x64)
    Microsoft Windows Server 2016 (x64)

    Supported Browsers


    The IBM Spectrum Protect for Workstations Client GUI supports the following browsers:
    Microsoft/Internet Explorer V11
    Firefox/Mozilla V45, V47
    Google Chrome V52, V53

Central Administration Console
    Hardware requirements
    To install the IBM Spectrum Protect for Workstations Central Administration Console, the system must have an Intel Pentium(R) III processor with the following specifications:
    • CPU: Dual core CPU with a clock speed of 3 GHz or higher
    • RAM: 8 GB capacity or greater
    • Free disk space total of the following amounts:
    • 50 GB on the installation drive
    • 2 GB of temporary space during the installation on the system drive

    Software requirements
    The minimum hardware configuration for Windows servers must be compatible with that stated by Microsoft for the respective operating systems. The following platforms are supported for this release of the Central Administration Console:
    Microsoft Windows Server 2012 (x64)
    Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 (x64)

    Supported Browsers


    The Central Administration Console supports the following browsers:
    Microsoft/Internet Explorer V11
    Firefox/Mozilla, V45, V47
