How to update Applix certificates with MMC console if you don't have the importsslcert.exe file

Problem

Applix certificates will expired on the 24th of November and part of the process is to update them with the importsslcert.exe file. Depending on your installation and version you may not have importsslcert.exe file. This technote replace only those steps: importsslcert.exe -remove and importsslcert.exe The steps before and after are still needed

Resolving The Problem

First remove the certificates:

1- Click on men Start / Run and enter "certmgr.msc" and click OK
2- Unfold "Trusted Root Certification Authorities" and click on "Certificates"
3- Right click on "Applix, Inc." and choose "Delete" and choose "Yes" twice


Now to add the new certificate:
(found in: http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/quickorder?product=ibm%2FInformation+Management%2FCognos+TM1&fixids=BA-CTM1-SSL-ZIP-IF001)

1- Double click on the "applixca.der" file
2- Click on "Install Certificate…" and choose "Next"
3- Choose "Place all certificates in the following store", click on browse and then choose "Trusted Root Certification Authorities" then "OK"
4- Click "Next", "Finish" validate with "Yes" and then "OK"

The new certificate is now installed.
