HC41464: MESSAGE " MODEL : MOVE NOT ALLOWED " IN FUNCTION MODELS / MODIFY / REPLACE / TRANSLATE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Problem: "Move model not allowed" message appeared during
  MODELS / MODIFY / REPLACE/ TRANSLATE operation.
  
     The problem does not need a specific model.
  
        1. Create a simple model: only one 3D LINE for example.
        2. Select MODELS / MODIFY / REPLACE/ TRANSLATE
        3. Select the line and define the translation.
        4. YES ==> Move model not allowed
  
     This problem does NOT occur in MODELS / MODIFY / DUPLICATE
  process.
  
     NOTE: This problem occurs on CATIA installation with ADD
  configuration. If another product is installed (like NCB
  product) the problem does not occur.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

•    It is impossible to move a passive model using function
  MODELS / MODIFY / REPLACE in ADD configuration. The message
  'MOVE MODEL NOT ALLOWED' is returned and an ABENDU999 can occur.
  

Problem conclusion

• THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON
    CATIA VERSION 4 RELEASE 2.0 REFRESH 2 GA level  (FREL420R2)
  .
  THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON
    CATIA VERSION 4 RELEASE 2.1 REFRESH 1 GA level  (FREL421R1)
  
     It is now possible to move the model.
     The message returned is now 'MODEL MOVED, OBJECT NO MORE
  LINKABLE'.
