INTEROP V4-V5:GAP IN INTERSECTION AFTER COPY-PASTE AS RESULT V4 MODEL
Problem conclusion
THIS PROBLEM IS PERMANENT RESTRICTION IN Additional Closure Information: THIS PROBLEM IS PERMANENT RESTRICTION IN CATIA. . ADDITIONAL INFORMATION : . First of all, the fact that Copy/Paste AsResult and Copy/Paste AsSpec do not produce exactly the same result isn't schocking, in fact it happens most of the time. This is hwy you get a difference between Part.1 and Part.2. . Secondly, geometrical entities (such as curves) can't be always identical on both sides of surfaces, this is the reason why topology is used. . By-pass provided for APAR HD14740 doesn't work on this case because curves are conics : deformation isn't applied on those curves, which have been migrated this way from V4 into V5 (gap already exists in V4, model dimension is 2000 so gaps between curves less than 0.02 are allowed ). . More generally, gaps between curves, greater than V5 tolerance, are frequent in V5 Parts, and well managed by V5 operators (boolean, etc...). V5 modeler is a tolerant modeler, so the tool cutter will deal with these geometrical gaps.
