Error description

  • < Summary >
In some cases the '2D-View Section' manipulator is
not positioned on the 'BANSEN' grid.
And it is not possible to move the '2D-View Section'
    correctly by 'BANSEN' pitch(100mm)
    .
When create '2D-View Section' fixed on 'xy plane'
as 'Visualization plane' and 'Extrude.1' as 'Cut
    Element'.
    .
If Cutting plane is 'yz plane' or 'Plane.1',
'2D-View Section' manipulator is positioned on
    the 'BANSEN' grid
If Cutting plane is 'Plane.2' or 'Fill.1',
'2D-View Section' manipulator is not positioned
    on the 'BANSEN' grid
    .
    < Process >
    0) Start CATIA R14SP2.
    1) Open the file : 'CUST6466.CATPart'.
    Workbench : 'GSD'
    2) Click 'Insert 2D-View Section' icon.
    >>'2D-View Section Definition' window is
    displayed.
    3) Select 'xy plane' as 'Visualization plane'.
    Select 'Plane.2' as 'Cutting Plane'.
(If 'Fill.1' is selected, the result is the same)
    Select 'Extrude.1' as 'Cut Element'.
    >>The shape of '2D-View section' is displayed
    in graphical area.
    4) Click 'Top View' in the View bar.
    >>'BANSEN' is displayed.
    >>'2D-View Section' manipulator is not positioned
    on the 'BANSEN' grid
    >>>This is problem.
    .
    5) Select right axis of 'Manipulator 2D' and drag to
    right.
    >>The manipulator is positioned on 'BANSEN' grid.
    >>But the shape of '2D-Section View' is not move
    by 'BANSEN' pitch (100mm).
    >>>This is also problem.
    .
    < Expected result >
In any cases the '2D-View Section' manipulator
should be positioned on the 'BANSEN' grid.
And the '2D-View Section' should be moved
    by 'BANSEN' pitch(100mm)
    .

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON CATIA
    VERSION
    5 RELEASE 15 GA level.
NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE
    FIXED
    ON V5R14SP04.
    .
    Incident Diagnosis
In some cases the '2D-View Section'
    manipulator is
not positioned on the 'BANSEN' grid.
And it is not possible to move the '2D-View
    Section'
    correctly by 'BANSEN' pitch (100mm)
    .
    Correction Explanation
    2D-view section:
    - visualization plane re-selection leads to
    wrong
    manipulators moves
    - alignment to Bansen line is not correct in
    certain
    cases
    - alignment to Bansen line is necessary
    when
Bansen is current even though it is not
    visible,
because it can become visible after 3D
    manipulation within the 2D-view section
    command
    .
    Answer and By-Pass
    All the problems are corrected
    By-pass:
    Select visualization plane once.
Do not make Bansen visible when
    command is
already running but before launching 2D-
    view
    section command.
    .
    .
