Occupancy table has reference to container pool with empty node_name

Troubleshooting


Problem

A select command from the occupancy table shows records from a directory-container storage pool with an empty node_name value.

Symptom

The following command shows the empty node_name record :

select * from occupancy where node_name=''

The command returns the following output :

TYPE:
FILESPACE_NAME:
STGPOOL_NAME: dirpool1
NUM_FILES: 48960856
PHYSICAL_MB:
LOGICAL_MB:
REPORTING_MB: 115653155.86
FILESPACE_ID:

Note: The "dirpool1" storage pool is a directory type stgpool.

Cause

Working as designed.

Environment

IBM Spectrum Protect Server V7.1.3 and above

Resolving The Problem

The empty node_name record from the occupancy table referencing the directory-container storage pool is working as designed and can be ignored.
