Question

Where can you find release notes for changes to QRadar Device Support Modules (DSMs)?

Answer

IBM Security does not publish release notes for individual QRadar Device Support Modules (DSMs). Information about changes to individual DSMs can be found in the 'Abstract' section that appears in the hover text for each release that is posted to IBM Fix Central.

To view a DSM change from the Fix Central Interface:

  1. Go to IBM Fix Central.
  2. Click the Select Product tab and select the following options:

    Product Group: IBM Security
    Select from IBM Security: IBM Security QRadar SIEM
    Installed Version: 7.2.0
    Platform: Linux

    Click Continue when finished.
  3. Select Browse for fixes and click Continue.
  4. Click the DSM link to jump to the DSM section.


  5. Hover your mouse pointer over any DSM to view its Abstract field.






To View Changes from the QRadar Weekly Auto Update File
A readme file within the weekly auto update details a list of changed files, including DSM changes. If you are looking for a specific change description, the hover text in the Abstract contains a more detailed write-up of the DSM release. For users without Internet access, an auto update file is published each week that can be downloaded and install on QRadar. NOTE: The Download Director option on IBM Fix Central does not display the readme file. To review the changed file list for the weekly auto update file, modify your Fix Central download settings to use Download using your browser (HTTPS) described in the following procedure:
  1. Go to IBM Fix Central.
  2. Click the Select Product tab and select the following options:

    Product Group: IBM Security
    Select from IBM Security: IBM Security QRadar SIEM
    Installed Version: 7.2.0
    Platform: Linux

    Click Continue when finished.
  3. Select Browse for fixes and click Continue.
  4. Click the AUTOUPDATE link to jump to the Autoupdate section.


  5. Click the link for the latest autoupdate and log in to Fix Central (if required).
  6. Click Change download options on the right side of the screen.
  7. Select Download using your browser (HTTPS) and click Continue.
  8. Save or view the readme file. Note that the readme filename will always be in the format wau-readme.<date stamp>.txt.
