Error description

  • Catia V5 crashes with the 'command interrupted'
    error if the  CATStartupPath variable exceeds 210
    characters.
    .
    Scenario:
    Abstract -
    Catia V5 crashes with the command interrupted
    error if the CATStartupScript variable in
    the 'CATIA_P3.V5R11.B11.txt' file is set to more
    than 210 characters.
    This happens only if the "Load Extended Language
    Libraries" option in ON in the Tools => Options
    panel.
    .
    Scenario -
    1 - Open the CatiaV5 environment file
    CATIA_P3.V5R11.B11.txt
    2 - Set the CATStartupPath variable to a path that
    is more than 210 characters.
    3 - Launch Catia V5
    4 - Click on Tools => Options => Parameters &
    Measures
    5 - Check the 'Load Extended Language Libraries'
    option.
    6 - Exit Catia V5 and launch again.
    7 - Download the files TestItem.CATScript and
    Part11.CATPart files attached to this PMR into a
    local directory.
    8 - In Catia V5 open the Part11.CATPart attached
    to this PMR.
    9 - Click on Tools=>Macro=>Macros - The macros
    panel pops up.
    10- Locate the TestItem.CATScript file and Click
    Run.
    Catia crashes with the command interrupted error.

    Notes -
    1 - If the CATStartupPath variable path is less than
    210 characters everything works fine.
    2 - Tests were done on Catia V5R11 SP02 and
    Catia V5R13 SP03 and the results are exactly the
    same.

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON CATIA VERSION
    5 RELEASE 14 GA level.
    NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED
    ON V5R13SP5.

    Incident Diagnosis
    the path length use in the setting file is bigger than
    the maximum size allowed. Therefore it leads to a
    crash on sun.
    .
    Correction Explanation
    We change the array of char to a
    CATUnicodeString that has no length restriction
    .
