  • PRODEDIT : ADD BUTTON DOES NOT WORK IN
    PRODUCT EDITOR WHEN WORKING WITH  THE
    CONFIGURATION MATRIX
    ABSTRACT: Add button does not work in Product
    Editor when working with the configuration matrix
    DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
    When creating instances in Product Editor using the
    Add button and
    viewing the Configuration Matrix in the Type Data
    view the Add button
    will work as the OK button
    Step by step scenario:
    1. Activate Product Class Editor
    2. Create a PRC
    3. Configure the PRC
    4. Activate Category Editor
    5. Create a Category, Cat1
    6. Add a specification, Spec1, to Cat1
    7. Attach the PRC to Cat1
    (Create an Action - Attach the PRC as an
    associated object - Set D-D common condition with
    today's date as a start
    date and no end date - Create an empty
    modification for the associated PRC)
    8. Open the PRC in Product Editor
    9. Right click the PRC and select Insert Instances
    and insert an item instance from a new reference
    10. Lock the instance (usage and reference)
    11. Right click the instance and select
    Configuration - Configure Part
    12. Right click the instance and select
    Configuration - Edit Applicability
    13. Set type to Specification Expression Only and
    set the Specification Expression to Spec1
    14. In ENOVIA settings, set Instance View: Type
    data view to Configuration Matrix and click OK
    15. Click Yes in the apply settings window.
    16. Return to Product Editor. The configuration for
    the instance is displayed in the configuration matrix
    17. Right click the locked configured instance and
    select Insert Instances
    18. Enter a part number and click Add
    19. Problem: The "Insert under" window is closed
    and no more instances can be added. The window
    should be remained
    opened since the 'Add' button was used.

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON ENOVIA
    VERSION 5 RELEASE 14 GA level.
    NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED
    ON V5R13SP05 AND V5R12SP08.
    .
    Note - On the above mentioned levels ,at step
    19,the window 'remains open' when the Add button
    is used and after step 18 if click Cancel button,as
    expected the 'configuration matrix is displayed'.
